Our Story

A Promise To A Community

Earlier this year, AMREF Flying Doctors returned to Mwihoko following a difficult chapter that deeply touched the community.

In honour of those we lost, including Yvonne Nasimiyu, we committed to creating a lasting, meaningful impact through educational infrastructure.

Support The Mission

The Challenge

A Classroom Should Not Hold 96 Students

Mutuya Comprehensive School serves 1,531 learners with only 16 classrooms — nearly double the recommended classroom capacity.

Challenge

Shared Resources

Students share desks and learning materials, limiting individual engagement and access to educational tools.

Challenge

Teacher Burden

Teachers struggle to provide individual attention in classrooms of 96 learners.

Challenge

Diminished Outcomes

Overcrowded classrooms directly reduce educational performance and learning quality.

The Solution

13 New Classrooms. A Better Learning Future

The project introduces modern educational spaces designed for safety, focus, accessibility, and sustainable learning outcomes.

Proper Furniture

Every learner receives dedicated seating and workspace.

Safe Structures

Built with durable materials suitable for long-term educational use.

Reduced Congestion

Classroom density decreases from 96 students to near recommended levels.

Long-Term Impact

Infrastructure designed to support generations of learners.

Projected Impact
